Our Story

Our background

Reywood started with a simple idea: furniture should be made for you, not mass-produced. We began as a small workshop and grew by doing one project well at a time.

We still work that way. You tell us what you need, we build it in solid wood to a high standard.

Today we’re a full team, but treat every project with the same care.

Woods We Use

Species we work with most often

Ironwood

Ulin

Probably the hardest wood we work with. Ulin holds up to rain, termites, and constant foot traffic better than almost anything else, which is why it's our go-to for decking, outdoor fences, and anything that needs to last for decades.

Teak

Jati

Teak has a reputation for a reason. It's naturally oily, which keeps it from warping or cracking even in Jakarta's humidity. The colour starts golden and mellows nicely over time. Works well indoors and out.

Kwila

Merbau

Deep reddish-brown, heavy, and tough. Merbau handles high traffic well and doesn't mind getting wet, so it shows up a lot in our flooring, decking, and stair tread work.

Borneo Camphorwood

Kamper

You can actually smell the camphor when it's freshly cut. It naturally keeps insects away, which makes it popular for interior work. Not as heavy as Ulin or Merbau, but it mills cleanly and takes a finish well.

White Teak

Sungkai

Lighter in colour and weight than the others. Easy to work with, takes stain evenly, and a sensible pick for interiors where you want a cleaner, brighter look without spending as much as you would on teak.

Yellow Balau

Bengkirai

A tough, dense hardwood from Kalimantan. Bengkirai holds up well outdoors and resists rot and insects naturally, making it a practical and cost-effective choice for decking and exterior structures.
